Polar Bear

The leather bookmark with polar bear from Norway. I hope no polar bears were harmed in producion of this bookmark.

Polar bears are the world's largest land predators. They can be found in the Arctic, the U.S. (Alaska), Canada, Russia, Denmark (Greenland), and Norway.
Despite what we think, a polar bear's fur is not white. Each hair is clear hollow tube. Polar bears look white because each hollow hair reflects the light. On sunny days, it traps the sun's infrared heat and keeps the bear warm.
Polar bear fur is oily and water repellent. The hairs don't mat when wet, allowing the polar bears to easily shake free of water and any ice that may form after swimming.

Anne of Cleves

The bookmark with the portrait of Anne of Cleves from the United Kingdom.

Anne of Cleves (1515 – 1557) was a German noblewoman and the fourth wife of Henry VIII of England and as such she was Queen of England from 6 January 1540 to 9 July 1540. The marriage was never consummated, and she was not crowned queen consort. Following the annulment of their marriage, Anne was given a generous settlement by the King, and thereafter referred to as the King's Beloved Sister.

Anne was the subject of two portraits by Hans Holbein the younger who painted her in 1539.

It's so interesting to get acquainted with the Tudor dynasty through the bookmarks!!! I've started reading the books of Phillipa Gregory and I'm so captivated! Do you like reading history novels?

The Big Lebowski

The double-sided magnetic bookmark adorned with a Big Lebowski print.

The Big Lebowski is a 1998 American-British comedy film written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen. Jeff Bridges stars as Jeff Lebowski, an unemployed Los Angeles slacker and avid bowler.

The movie was not an immediate commercial success (its budget was about US$15 million, and the film grossed US$17 million in the USA), but it received generally positive reviews from critics. The film has become a cult favorite and has been called "the first cult film of the Internet era." The film's devoted fans have spawned Lebowski Fest, an annual festival that started in Louisville, Kentucky in 2002 and has since expanded to several other cities.

Have you seen that film? What's your opinion about it?

Santorini Oia

The magnetic bookmark from Greece.

Along the cliff of Oia, houses have been delved into the porous volcanic rock. Parts of these houses are visible and the scenery that results from it is generally perceived as being typically Greek. The town is noted for its picturesque architecture.

Believe me, it's the most beautiful place on earth!!!
