Hi, I'm Vaida from Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania (Europe). This blog is about collecting bookmarks from all the world. There is a great variety of bookmarks and I have only a small part of it. I hope to have bookmarks from each country in the world.

Polar Bear
The leather bookmark with polar bear from Norway. I hope no polar bears were harmed in producion of this bookmark.

Polar bears are the world's largest land predators. They can be found in the Arctic, the U.S. (Alaska), Canada, Russia, Denmark (Greenland), and Norway.
Despite what we think, a polar bear's fur is not white. Each hair is clear hollow tube. Polar bears look white because each hollow hair reflects the light. On sunny days, it traps the sun's infrared heat and keeps the bear warm.
Polar bear fur is oily and water repellent. The hairs don't mat when wet, allowing the polar bears to easily shake free of water and any ice that may form after swimming.

Moose
The leather bookmark with a moose from my friend Liuda (also a bookmark collector) from Norway.

Moose (or elk) are found in large numbers throughout Norway.
Moose collisions with vehicles and trains cause more damage to property and injuries to people, sometimes even death. One must be careful when driving on remote country roads at dusk (the time of day when you’re most likely to hit one).
One more bookmark from Norway with moose here

Elk of Norway
The magnetic bookmark with elk from Norway.

Elk is the largest existing deer of Europe and Asia resembling but not so large as the moose of North America. The elk is the largest type of deer, sometimes two metres (6.5 feet) high at the shoulder and with big, flattened antlers.

There is a famous traffic sign, unique to Norway, picturing an elk framed by a red triangle to warn people of the danger. This traffic sign is so popular among tourists as well as Norwegians that it is actually possible to buy copies of it...
