Antarctica

The bookmark with the image of the Adélie Penguin (a species of penguin common along the entire Antarctic coast). In 1840, French explorer Jules Dumont d'Urville named these penguins for his wife, Adélie.

Antarctica is Earth's southernmost continent, encapsulating the South Pole. At 14.0 million km2 (5.4 million sq mi), it is the fifth-largest continent. About 98% of Antarctica is covered by ice.
Antarctica, on average, is the coldest, driest, and windiest continent. There are no permanent human residents, but anywhere from 1,000 to 5,000 people reside throughout the year at the research stations scattered across the continent. Only cold-adapted plants and animals survive there, including penguins, seals, nematodes, tardigrades, mites, many types of algae and other microorganisms, and tundra vegetation.

Patagonia

The bookmark with the impressive sight of Mount Fitz Roy in Patagonia. The bookmark from Patrick - my best and the only friend from Argentina ;)

Patagonia is a geographic region containing the southernmost portion of South America. Patagonia is located in Argentina and Chile; it comprises the southernmost portion of the Andes mountains.
The name Patagonia comes from the word patagón used by Magellan to describe the native people whom his expedition thought to be giants. It is now believed the Patagons were actually Tehuelches with an average height of 1.80 m (~5′11″) compared to the 1.55 m (~5′1″) average for Spaniards of the time.

Mount Fitz Roy - this is the most appreciated peak by the lovers of climbing and trekking. The altitude is 3,405 m.
Its original name is Chaltén, that in Tehuelche dialect means "smoking mountain". This is due to a rare aeolic phenomenon that makes its top always appear as it was surrounded by clouds, which gives the mountain a smoking volcano look.

Tango in Caminito

Argentina is famous for the Tango dance and music. Tango originated in Buenos Aires and spread to the rest of the world soon after.

Caminito is a little street in La Boca, a neighbourhood, or barrio of the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires. It retains a strong European flavour, with many of its early settlers being from the Italian city of Genoa. Argentine artist Benito Quinquela Martín applied pastel colours to the walls of biuldings in Caminito street.
