The Vilnius Book Fair is the main annual meeting place of publishers, book sellers, writers and readers, it is important cultural activity for both, book-lovers and for the trade. The distinctive feature of the Vilnius Book Fair is the abundance of cultural events, especially meetings with the well known Lithuanian and foreign writers. Cultural programme attracts thousand of book lovers from Lithuania and neighbouring countries.

Scottish Terrier

The Scottish Terrier, popularly called the Scottie, is a breed of dog. They are a small breed of Terrier with a distinctive shape and have had many roles in popular culture. They have been owned by a variety of celebrities, including the 43rd President of the United States George W. Bush, and are well known for being a playing piece in the board game Monopoly. Described as a territorial, feisty dog, they can make a good watchdog and tend to be very loyal to their family.

V Sign

The metallic bookmark with a V sign from a souvenir shop in Lithuania.



The V sign is a hand gesture in which the first and second fingers are raised and parted, whilst the thumb and remaining fingers are clenched. During World War II, Winston Churchill popularized its use as a "Victory" sign (for V as in victory). In the United States, it is also used to mean "Peace", a meaning that became popular during the peace movement of the 1960s.

The flag of Lithuania consists of a horizontal tricolor of yellow, green and red. It was adopted on March 20, 1989, almost two years before the reestablishment of Lithuania's independence following the end of the Soviet Union.

Klaipeda - is a city in Lithuania situated at the mouth of the Curonian Lagoon where it flows into the Baltic Sea. As Lithuania's only seaport, it has ferry terminal connections to Sweden and Germany.
