Motmot

The handpainted wooden bookmark that shows a motmot bird from El Salvador. Beautiful!!! Thanks, Xiomara :)

The motmots are birds restricted to woodland or forest in the Neotropics, and the largest diversity is in Middle America. They have a colourful plumage and a relatively heavy bill.
The Turquoise-browed Motmot (also called Torogoz or Talapo) is the national bird of El Salvador.
