The Great Wave

The metallic (stainless steel) double-sided bookmark with very finely cut-out and engraved illustration (the black areas within the bookmark are cut holes) from Switzerland.

The bookmark shows the icon artwork 'The Great Wave' created by Japan's most famous artist Hokusai.





Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) created this extraordinary picture around 1831. It is known as 'The Great Wave Off Kanagawa'. To the right of the wave the snow covered Mount Fuji can be seen in the distance.

Switzerland is a federal republic consisting of 26 cantons, with Bern as the seat of the federal authorities. The country is situated in Western Europe where it is bordered by Germany, France, Italy, Austria and Liechtenstein.
The two global cities and economic centres of Switzwerland are Zürich and Geneva.
